Service Description

Could your brain be missing some of the building blocks it needs? When people struggle with mood symptoms, they often focus only on thoughts and emotions. Those matter—but the brain is also a physical organ that depends on adequate nutrition to function well. Neurotransmitters such as serotonin, dopamine, GABA, and norepinephrine are made from amino acids obtained through the foods we eat. When nutrition is inadequate, stress is chronic, or the body is under strain, some people may experience symptoms such as: ✔ Low mood ✔ Anxiety or excessive worry ✔ Difficulty concentrating ✔ Low motivation ✔ Cravings for sugar or carbohydrates ✔ Trouble sleeping Therapy can help address emotional and behavioral patterns, while nutritional strategies may help support the brain's ability to produce and regulate key neurotransmitters. Foods rich in protein and amino acids include: 🥚 Eggs 🐟 Fish 🍗 Poultry 🫘 Beans and legumes 🥜 Nuts and seeds 🥩 Lean meats Mental health is rarely just one thing. It's often a combination of biology, psychology, lifestyle, relationships, and life experiences. In my practice, I help clients explore both emotional healing and evidence-informed nutritional support as part of a comprehensive approach to mental wellness.

"For many years, I have been in search of a therapist that specializes in ADHD, EMDR, and has the lived cultural experience and knowledge to understand me on a deeper level. I found a therapist that was culturally competent and had some experience with ADHD but did not have EMDR experience. She referred me to a colleague of hers that had experience using IEMT. During our first session, Yajaira and I were able to jump right into an IEMT session. It was different from EMDR and the experience left me feeling less affected by the trauma we concentrated on during the session. Not only was this amazing, I also felt immediately comforted by Yajaira's nurturing but firm approach to counseling. She takes a holistic approach to her practice which includes paying much needed attention to your spiritual needs. She understands cultural nuisances that some therapists fail to see or address during their sessions and this has made all the difference for me. She expects clients to do the hard work of healing but is also there as a guide during your journey. If you are looking for a therapist that has experience using different therapeutic modalities effectively, is career and goal oriented, culturally connected, and will nurture your mind, body and spirit, Yajaira is the therapist for you.
